101 Fingerlicking Good
Fingerstyle Guitar Accompaniment Patterns

About This Book
Book and CD - Standard Notation - Tablature
There is perhaps nothing quite as pretty as a gentle
fingerpicking guitar music. Think of the beautiful
simplicity of the Peter, Paul, and Mary sound. One can
listen to any of their songs a thousand times, yet it
always sound fresh and worthy of close attention. And
their entire "orchestra" was nothing more than a
couple of fingerpicked acoustic guitars.
This book contains 101 interesting and varied
fingerstyle accompaniment patterns for students,
teachers, and working musicians. The patterns, which
vary from very easy to intermediate in technical
difficulty, cover a wide variety of sounds applicable
to most popular styles as well as folk, blues, and
gospel music.
For some reason, many existing fingerstyle pattern
books limit their focus to stationary chord positions.
In real fingerpicking playing, however, the fretting
hand is often active, a reality we have considered while
preparing the examples. Thus, you will be pleased to
discover many new chord interpretations here, just
like the ones you hear the pros play on your favorite
recordings.
Most of the patterns can be applied to many songs.
Your imagination, listening skills, musical taste,
technical ability, and inclination to experiment are
all important factors to consider at the application
level.
Coil bound for your convenience.
